The Role and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a team of 3 (cloud) engineers, ensuring efficient team operations and project delivery. This includes recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and providing career development opportunities for team members.
- Help the team with prioritisation. Assisted in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring the team adopted best practices in software engineering.
- Oversee project timelines and deliverables. Ensure resources are allocated efficiently and projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Work closely with other departments to improve cross-functional workflows and communication.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organisation, including providing regular updates on team progress, project challenges, and technological advancements.
- Oversee the utilisation of modern platforms and technologies, ensuring they are leveraged effectively to maximise the value the engineering teams deliver.
Our Tech Stack:
Familiarity with React, Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL
Familiarity with AWS (or other cloud providers), Gitlab, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, CI/CD processes
Familiarity with automated testing tools like Playwright, Postman
Monitoring and observability with Datadog and Opsgenie
Who We're Looking For:
Proven experience in working with large-scale web experiences.
Experience in leading and managing teams of skilled software engineers.
Excellent people management, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication abilities, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
A servant-leadership approach, ready to own challenges and influence at senior levels.

The process

3. Hiring manager interview: During this 1 hour, you’ll meet the hiring manager, where they'll assess your technical and people leadership skills.
4. In person interview: During this 1.5 hour, the hiring manager and our principal engineer, will conduct a situational interview to gain insight into your work approach and problem-solving methods.
6. Final Interview: During these 30 minutes, the CPTO will have an open discussion about your motivations, ambitions and general experience about working with technology and product teams.
